Alia Bhatt has been one of the best actresses of today. Even though she has done only a few films, she has proved her talent and her prowess. In fact, the audiences were up for a surprise right in her second film Highway where she played a sexually abused girl with Stockholm syndrome. From then on, she has kept surprising us with her versatility and her choice of characters.

1. Neerja
Alia Bhatt was the first choice for the Neerja Bhanot biopic. However, the producer of the film, Atul Kasbekar felt that she might not fit the bill due to her short height. That was when it went to Sonam Kapoor and she later won the National Award for her performance.

2. Raabta
Alia Bhatt was offered Raabta opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. But she backed out of the film, without giving any reasons Later Kriti Sanon was brought into the project.
3. Golmaal Returns
Alia was also offered this multi-starrer and she had also expressed her desire to work in this successful franchise. But the dates clashed and she had to back out of the project.
4. Thugs Of Hindostan
Alia Bhatt was also approached with Thugs of Hindostan. But she chose to not do it because she felt her role was irrelevant and not meaty enough. Fatima Sana Sheikh was brought in for the project.
5. Saaho
Before Shraddha Kapoor, Alia was offered the female lead in the South film starring Prabhas. She felt that the role was not important and was just a supporting character and therefore rejected it.
