Hardik Pandya Channeled His Inner Dhoni To Beat Pakistan, Revealed How Mahi Was Always With Him

The high voltage encounter between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 took place on August 28 but people are still busy talking about it especially about Hardik Pandya who gave a superb all-round performance and helped India win the game by 5 wickets. The match was played at Dubai International Stadium and after winning the toss, India invited Pakistan to bat first. The whole Pakistani team got out for 147 runs with 2 balls remaining in its innings, the Indians also didn’t get a good start but middle order played responsibly and ensured that they took their team home as winners.

Hardik Pandya finished the match with the massive six as he played a brilliant knock of 33 runs not out in 17 balls and his innings included 4 fours and 1 maximum. Earlier, he impressed everyone with ball as well since he dismissed 3 Pakistani batsmen and supported Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a pretty good manner.

After the match, Hardik Pandya had a chat with former Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Sanjay Bangar in which he revealed that he had seen MS Dhoni handling such pressure situations in a calm manner and he tried to do the same in India vs Pakistan match.

Hardik Pandya stated that he tried to keep things as much simple as possible. He says that he has played a lot with MS Dhoni and has seen him playing like that, though he hasn’t asked many questions to him but he has definitely seen him playing. He further says that he has tried to learn something from all the cricketers whom he has played with and he feels that a person is able to assess the situation in a better manner and can take a correct decision if he handles it with a calm mind.

Talking about the match, Hardik Pandya stated that he made an attempt to do the same thing while batting too and it helped him in keeping his nerves calm. He further said that for him, the match started from the 15th over because he knew that their death bowler has made debut in this match and there will be little up and down in the execution. The Gujarat cricketer added that he knew the Pakistan team’s over rate was less and there was one left-arm spinner so even if they played few dot balls at that time, they could compensate for it later on. He went on to say that after analyzing all these options, he decided that staying till the end was the best option and it proved correct.
