10 Hindi Movie Songs Composed By Golden Globes Winner M.M. Keeravani Before Naatu Naatu

SS Rajamouli directed “RRR” (Rise, Roar, Revolt) has broken many records on the box-office, not just in India but overseas as well, and many moviemakers from the west are also praising the flick, the director and the actors too.

The music of the film was also loved by everyone and recently, history was scripted as a song from “RRR” entitled “Naatu Naatu” won the Golden Globes Award in the Best Original Song category. This was the first time that an Indian song won this prestigious award which was received by the music composer M.M. Keeravani.

M.M. Keeravani who is also a singer mainly works in the Telugu Cinema but he has worked in quite a few Hindi and Tamil movies as well. Keeravani who is SS Rajamouli’s cousin and is 12 yrs elder to the filmmaker has given music in all the 12 movies of the filmmaker.

Though M.M. Keeravani has given few Hindi superhits, not many people know about them and one reason behind it is that he is also known as M.M. Kreem which creates confusion.

1. Tu Mile Dil Khile (Criminal):

This famous song from the 1994 released and Mahesh Bhatt directed “Criminal” which starred Nagarjuna, Manisha Koirala and Ramya Krishnan in important roles was composed by M.M. Keeravani and was sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Chitra.

2. Chup Tum Raho (Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin):

This film was released in 1996 and M.M. Keeravani not only gave music to this song but he also sang it. The female singer of the song was Chitra and the flick was directed by Sudhir Mishra.

3. Aa Bhi Ja (Sur: The Melody of Life):

M.M. Keeravani was the music director of 2002 released movie “Sur: The Melody of Life” which starred the famous singer-actor Lucky Ali and Gauri Karnik in important roles. The song “Aa bhi ja” was loved a lot by audiences and it was sung by Lucky Ali and Sunidhi Chauhan.

4. Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai (Jism):

This romantic number starring John Abraham and Bipasha Basu from the 2003 released film “Jism” is still the favourite of many music lovers and Shreya Ghoshal gave her melodious to this track.

5. Gali Mein Aaj Chaand Nikla (Zakhm):

This is one more beautiful composition by M.M. Keeravani for the Hindi Cinema which he gave for Mahesh Bhatt directed “Zakhm” (1998). Featuring Pooja Bhatt, Nagarjuna and Kunal Khemu as a child artist, it is definitely a perfect track for those who are waiting to meet their partners after a long time.

6. O Saathiya (Saaya):

Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik gave their voices to this beautiful composition of M.M. Keeravani for the movie “Saaya”. Released in 2003, this flick was directed by Anurag Basu and starred John Abraham and Tara Sharma in lead roles.

7. Maine Dil Se Kaha (Rog):

The music of Irrfan Khan starrer “Rog” (2005) was also given by M.M. Keeravani and out of all the songs, “Maine Dil Se Kaha” became the most popular. It was sung by KK who departed from the world last year in May.

8. Dheere Jalna (Paheli):

Not many people knew it but the melodious composition “Dheere Jalna” from Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer “Paheli” was also composed by M.M. Keeravani. The movie got released in 2005, it was directed by Amol Palekar and the song was sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

9. Jaana Hai (Kasak):

Though this 2005 released movie “Kasak” which starred Lucky Ali and Meera failed on the box-office, songs of the film especially “Jaana Hai” was liked by audiences and it was also composed by M.M. Keeravani.

10. Apne Dhokha Dete Hain (Dhokha):

This 2007 released movie starring Muzammil Ibrahim and Tulip Joshi was produced by Pooja Bhatt. It was also a box-office failure but this song that was composed by M.M. Keeravani was liked by music buffs.
