Sunrisers Hyderabad won their only IPL title in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner and Ashish Nehra was an important part of that team. Talking about Ashish Nehra, David Warner stated that Nehra and Yuvraj Singh are two very funny cricketers. Warner says that Nehra keeps on cracking jokes, adding that he always likes to be with them. David Warner goes on to say that he is sitting and thinking how Ashish Nehra is coaching.

As per the left-handed Aussie batter, Ashish Nehra is like a football coach who is always running here and there. He further says that this is innovation and he feels that this is how T20 coaching should be done. David Warner adds that he will like to see Ashish Nehra throwing his cap and asking on the mic why the batter is playing that shot.

David Warner led Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 in the absence of Rishabh Pant who is currently recovering from the injuries which he got after his car met an accident. DC had a forgettable season as they ended on the 9^th position in the IPL points table with just 5 wins and 9 defeats in 14 matches that it played.

David Warner is a part of the Aussie squad which is scheduled to play the final of the World Test Championship against India on 7 June 2023 at The Oval, London.
