The Indian batter Shubman Gill has a huge fan following on the social media platforms but his social media accounts were flooded with hate and abusive messages after the match between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This was the last league match for both the teams, though the result of this match would have had no effect on GT’s chances of playing in playoffs, it was a must win match for RCB for entering the playoffs.

The match was played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, and after winning the toss, GT chose to bowl first. Though GT bowlers bowled very well, Virat Kohli stood strongly against them and scored his second century of the season to help his team in posing the total of 197/5 on the score board. However, Shubman Gill out-shadowed Virat Kohli’s performance by scoring a century at a higher strike rate and helped his team in winning the match with 5 balls remaining in their innings.

This didn’t go well with some RCB fans who started trolling and abusing not just Shubman but his sister Shahneel as well and their Instagram accounts were flooded with abusive and dirty comments. While the current chairperson of Delhi Commission of Women took a note of this incident and promised prompt action against those who trolled Shubman’s sister, the Indian cricketer remained undeterred with all the online activity and recently he gave a strong message to the haters by posting a photo of himself in just a brown towel.

GT has lost the playoff match against CSK which was played yesterday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai and now GT will be able to play finals only if it succeeds in defeating the winner of the second playoff match which is going to be played today between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
