The memories of demonetization came back in the minds of Indian public when the apex bank of the country, Reserve Bank of India made an announcement regarding the withdrawal of Rs. 2000 currency note which is the highest denomination currency note of the present times. In order to ensure that there is no panic or anxiety in public, the central bank has made it clear that the note will remain legal tender and public will be able to deposit or exchange Rs. 2000 notes till 30 September 2023. The exchange of notes will start from 23 May in which public can exchange their Rs. 2000 notes in notes of different denominations but there is a limit of Rs. 20K at one time.
